Latest figures show that over the past 7 years audits have fallen by as much as 42% in some parts of the country. The figures have shown that in the 12 months to April 2018 49,000 audits were completed, against 84,000 in 2011.
This has raised concerns in some quarters about a failure to protect public safety; which is being attributed to long term under investment in the Fire Service.
Clearly it is down to business itself to ensure it undertakes suitable and sufficient fire risk assessments. Failure to do so could endanger both life and the future of the business.
