- MESH has been working with Thales Aerospace at their Crawley site of over 600 people. Staff had previously completed an online training package and risk assessment module for DSE operations.
MESH were brought in to assist the Health & Safety team to follow up on any concerns highlighted throughout the assessements. The key role for MESH has been to use our expertise in this field to help clear the outstanding actions in a timely manner.
- MESH has recently undertaken a series of ergonomic workstation assessments for Modem Media, a London based design company. The work undertaken has both assisted the company to understand improvements that it needs to introduce and provided staff with one to one training on how to set up their own workstations. Some staff had previously complained of varying degrees of discomfort and the improvements advised have greatly improved the situation for a number of them.
- MESH has recently worked with Groundsure a Brighton based Environmental consultancy, with around 40 office-based staff working predominately at their computers. The assessments undertaken involved us working one to one with each member of staff to review their workstation and educate them on the risks of a poor ergonomic setup. Recommendations included changes that management needed to action and the personal actions that staff could implement.
- MESH are working with staff at Ravensbourne College of Design and
Communication, to review the risks posed by in-appropriate work station
se-up. To date around 50 reviews have been completed and a number
of improvements identified. Most have required only minor adjustments,
but for a small number of staff the problems have been more significant.
Here MESH has offered solutions to problems that if not addressed
would lead to long-term health issues for the staff in question.
- MESH has carried out a number of DSE assessments as part of the
consultancy it has provided to East Malling Research (EMR). Staff
have been encouraged to self assess their workstation in the first
instance. These are then reviewed by the MESH consultant who then
undertakes a more detailed assessment if any problems or concerns
are noted. Improvement actions are discussed with the employee and
communicated to the relevant line manager.
