Workplace stress risk assessment clients
- MESH worked with management and staff at a large manufacturing facility
in Banbury, Oxfordshire to address the issue of stress. Management
were concerned that the pressure the business was under was adversely
affecting attendance and performance. Training was provided that addressed
not only the signs that managers need to be aware of, but also how
staff could manage their own stress levels. Management were provided
with simple to use risk assessment checklists, that looked at what
the HSE identify as the 7 key factors to managing stress. Management
subsequently reported an improvement in both morale and attendance.
- MESH have worked with Southend Council to create a stress policy,
train management and staff and assist with carrying out risk assessments.
- A large office based company in the Docklands area of London asked MESH to undertake a risk assessment on stress amongst a group of its employees. The assessment process included the use of a number of techniques for gathering information, including;
- Use of a staff survey;
- Reviewing absence records;
- Interviewing a cross section of staff.
To follow up on the assessment, management and staff were invited to attend a short training session to educate them on the signs of stress and what personal actions they could undertake to reduce the potential problems.
