About Environmental Gap Analysis
The environmental performance of a company is becoming more and more important as environmental regulation increases and both customers and other stakeholders focus on this as an issue. These groups have become more aware of the impacts on society of key environmental issues including climate change, biodiversity loss and sustainability. The environment is the source of all resources and the sink for all waste.
It is well known that economic activities can have a significant impact on the environment and environmental performance improvement can lead to reduced costs and improved business efficiency.
By carrying out a thorough environmental gap analysis for your company we can identify that:
- You are complying with all relevant legislation;
- You have a central register of all current permits, licences, drawings etc;
- You have compiled all available geological and survey results for your site including any known pollution events;
- You are controlling all significant aspects that could have a negative impact on the environment;
- Inputs and outputs are identified, including areas where improvements could be made;
- You have emergency plans in place that cover all likely scenarios;
- You have identified additional training needs.
Results you should expect
Following the gap analysis you should have a clear baseline as to where the company is at present and where action is required to meet legal requirements and improve environmental performance. If the company is planning to achieve a formal accreditation for an environmental management system such as ISO 14001 the gap analysis is a vital first step towards this goal, enabling you to identify areas where improvements are required.
Working with MESH Consultants you can be fully assured that the gap analysis that we carry out on your behalf will identify any improvements that may be necessary to prevent damage to the environment while ensuring full compliance with the vast array of Environmental legislation that applies to your business.
MESH Consultants has a team in place that are highly experienced in carrying out gap analysis to ensure peace of mind for clients.
