Who is this course for?
First Aid Emergency is designed to deliver vital first aid skills to key members of your workplace. Being a refresher course, delegates will have already learnt the basics and will use this course to build on their existing skills to become fully competent and up to date with best practice.
This one day course is packed full of knowledge and experience and includes an extensive and comprehensive range of life saving skills. The course is open to all team members of organisation in any sector and can be tailored to suit specific sectors if this is a requirement.
Aims
To equip delegates with nationally recognised life saving skills needed when accidents occur in the workplace.
Objectives
By the end of the training delegates will have learnt:
- How to manage an emergency;
- The ABC rule of resuscitation - CPR (now known as Basic Life Support);
- How to deal with unconsciousness - including how to put a person into the recovery position;
- How to deal with a person who is choking;
- How to help a person who has gone into respiratory or cardiac arrest;
- How to deal with a person who is bleeding and/or in shock;
- How to cope with people suffering symptoms of specific medical conditions including Heart Attacks, Angina, Strokes, Epilepsy and Diabetes;
- How to use and maintain first aid boxes
- How to successfully complete accident books and accident report sheets;
Certification
Successful completion of the course will provide the individual with a recognised qualification in First Aid Emergency.
