We find that all too often the most senior managers in a business don’t have the time to attend training on issues such as health & safety. This of course can lead to problems as how can they make informed business decisions on a subject they know very little about!
Perhaps they will rely upon health & safety advisors or instead send line managers to attend training courses; both valid options. However when it comes to making the final decision on whether to invest or not in better system, equipment or controls this lack of knowledge can be a barrier.
To try to address this situation IOSH has announced the launch of what it calls a ground breaking new training course. The new Leading Safely course aims to help business leaders to take ownership of their company’s safety agenda. The course has been developed in conjunction with business leaders from across industry and provides a blended training package for people with little time to attend training.
IOSH has incorporated a diagnostic tool to help delegates assess and rate themselves and their organisation on safety matters. Through the course they are helped to develop their skills and to identify improvements that will help to shape the future of their business.
The course is to be launched in June this year and MESH intends to be able to offer the course later in 2015.
