Costs of Competent Persons support can vary depending on the type and size of organisations and the range of activities we are requested to carryout for an organisation. We work with large, medium and small size businesses and will often provide a range of options for the organisation to select from.
As a guideline, we have provided organisations with as little as two days support over a 12 month period. On the other end of the scale, we have provided clients with a person on site for 2-3 days per week over the period of the contract agreed. Because of this our fees have ranged from as little as £1,100 to £12,000 to provide support that meets the individual organisations needs. In 2018 the majority of contracts were for under £2,300.

The law requires all employers to appoint a competent person in health and safety. More specifically it is a requirement of the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations. Regulation 7 requires employers to appoint one or more Competent Person(s) to assist them in meeting their legal obligations. The Regulations also require sufficient resources to be devoted to managing H&S.
