MESH undertook a noise assessment for the printing company based in West London employing around 60-70 staff. The assessments covered a range of printing and production cutting lines. The company had requested the assessments because it was concerned that the changes to the Noise at Work regulations meant that employees may have been exposed to levels of noise in excess to the daily or weekly exposure limit value that were introduced.
It was also concerned that staff were not taking seriously the controls that management had introduced to control the levels of exposure. The assessment process included MESH staff educating staff as to the importance of protecting their hearing by following the control systems introduced by the management and what the consequences could otherwise be.
