As part of the competent person support MESH provided to the Discovery Channel throughout 2008 was a programme of training for line management. This started with training the senior management team and was then cascaded through to all levels of management and covered around 150 managers.
The training was designed to raise awareness of health and safety issues relevant to the organisation and included a good level of interactivity through the inclusion of pertinent case studies. The sessions were planned to last for 2.5 hours in order to minimise disruption on the busy schedules the managers have. Feedback from all that attended was that the training was exceptionally well received.
