MESH Consultants was commissioned by Volkerfitzpatrick HOCHTIEF JV to conduct a baseline noise survey at the East Kent Access Phase 2 Project to quantify the existing noise levels at the nearest Noise Control Stations (NCSs) and quantify any noise sources that impacted on the site.
The noise survey was conducted in May 2010 to quantify the existing ambient noise levels in the vicinity of the proposed site. A combination of short term attended measurements and long term unattended measurements were used to assess the ambient noise climate along with quantification of noise sources. The findings were then reported back in a detailed report to Volkerfitzpatrick HOCHTIEF JV.
The method used in the baseline noise survey was based upon the relevant parts of BS 7445.
