MESH undertook a noise survey and series of noise assessments for Frontier Pitts a company based in West Sussex that makes security fencing and access gates. This was commissioned in response to the HSE requesting that an up to date survey was needed. The company uses a range of metal cutting equipment that emits noise well in excess of the second action limit from the Noise at Work regulations.
From the monitoring undertaking across all of the operations we were able to clearly identify which of the work processes put their staff at risk. A full report was issued that made written recommendations on areas of concern and what actions were needed to be taken by the company.
