MESH was employed by Educational and Scientific Products in 2009 to assess the DSEAR risk at its manufacturing site based in Ruslington, West Sussex. The company manufacture and sell anatomical models, skeletons, bones, medical simulators, prepared microscope slides and educational products for training purposes in health care, industry, hospitals, schools and universities.
We were able to assure the company that the controls in relation to DSEAR were acceptable and the level of risk was found to be low. Some remedial actions were suggested around the improvement of storage and / or handling controls of hazardous substances.
