The branch manager approached us in April 2013 and the site visit was undertaken in the same month with the report being presented in early May ready for the BSI inspection.
The site operates 24 hours seven days per week and provides a repair and rewind business specialising in electrical machines, motors and generators. The repair and refurbishment operations include varnish coating of windings through a dipping process.
Like many engineering operations there were a number of flammable substances and gases on-site and these were the key focus of the DSEAR assessment.
A number of recommendations for potential improvements were highlighted to the branch manager in the DSEAR survey report/assessment.
