Although each area had existing assessments it was felt that these needed to be reviewed and brought up to date to reflect current operations. Our staff spent time working closely with key personnel and questioning staff on how the processes operated and where the significant risks existed.
Additionally there was a requirement by GE that the operations should focus on key high risk tasks and ensure that suitable and sufficient assessments were in place to cover these. These included working at height, confined space working, working with cranes and hoists and hazardous substances.
These assessments were completed and written up using the GE template provided. Feedback was given to the relevant staff on the findings and covered the recommendations for improvements identified.
