What did we do?

An independent survey of the site operations at the Blanc Aero Industries UK LTD, Rugby facility was undertaken on March 7th 2012 at the request of Blanc Aero Industries UK LTD management. Martin Moy, of Mesh Consultants Limited, was instructed to carry out this survey, and to consider safety arrangements in respect to DSEAR.

Blanc Aero Industries UK LTD based at Butlers Leap, Rugby in Warwickshire produces aeronautical fasteners and assembly components. The main focus of this assessment was around the Plating activities and associated materials handling/storage.The facility operates 24/7 days per week and there are approximately 320 staff based on the site.

The key objective of this visit was to determine whether operations under review were subject to duties within the Dangerous Substances Explosive Atmosphere Regulations (DSEAR) – and to comment on relevant hazards and control measures employed at the site. Supporting information was provided by Nigel Southam, Health, Safety and Environmental Officer.

The findings have enabled the company to implement a number of actions to further improve their already very high standards of health and safety.

What the client said

We have used Mesh for our DSEAR assessments. Consultants were very knowledgeable in the subject and readily offered advice and support.

The reports were very detailed and concise and in a format that was easy to follow. We will be looking to use Mesh again in the future.
