MESH undertook noise monitoring surveys of the workshops at Ravensbourne College of Design and Communication. Staff had previously expressed concerns over the noise levels emitted by the machinery in both the wood and metal workshops. The purpose of the noise survey was to assess the daily exposure of personnel to noise in their working environment and identify areas where subsequent hearing damage could occur. The noise survey pinpointed where the problems existed and a report was compiled for management, identifying the necessary actions to be taken.
