MESH staff spent a number of days on site auditing the existing COSHH systems under the direction of the EHO department and the Site Manager. Although the site has a long history of managing COSHH risks it was felt that an independent review would provide some extra insight into where and how improvements may be achieved. The site has an excellent risk management record in recent times and as a COMAH registered site is regularly visited by the HSE.
The audit report was presented back to a number of senior managers across the site in December and they committed to implement a number of improvement recommendations.
The plan is for MESH to continue to assist site management with the implementation in 2012.
