NEBOSH Courses
BT Openreach, (Utilities)
Roger came to MESH to undertake the NEBOSH General Certificate programme in June 2010. He had decided he needed to broaden his health and safety knowledge in order to prove his competence as the Safety Risk Manager for Openreach.
Cannon Textile Care, (Cleaning)
Cannon Textile Care sent one of their managers onto the NEBOSH General Certificate course in 2010.
EDF Energy, (Utilities)
EDF sent their Integrated Management System & Audit Manager on the course during 2010 to broaden his health and safety knowledge.
Tony King, ()
Tony came to MESH whilst in between jobs; his aim was to develop health and safety skills he could take forwards to a new job role in 2010.
The Landscape Group Ltd, (Landscaping)
Martin Packman is the area manager for the landscape group and attended the February 2010 course at our Canterbury training venue. Martin achieved a Credit pass on the March 2010 exams; his group achieved 1 Distinction and 6 Credit passes.
Kevin Nuttall, (Service)
Kevin came to MESH as a self funding candidate on the February 2009 course held at our East Malling training rooms. He was looking to retrain and had chosen health and safety as a way to achieving a new skill set.
MF Global, (Service)
MF Global booked one of their managers onto the NEBOSH General Certificate course in June 2009 with MESH. As with many of our students Ricky had not studied for some time and health and safety was like a foreign language at the start of the course.
Gary Hills, (Service)
Gary came to MESH when leaving the Post Office for new employment. The Post Office funded his training in order that he could develop his health and safety skills; ready for his planned career change.
IOSH Courses
Tim Mattos, (Service)
Tim attended the course as part of his own personal development plan on which he had identified the need to learn a bit about health & safety.
Sign 2000, (Installation)
MESH has provided a range of training services to Sign 2000 over the time we have provided competent persons services to the company. This has included training both employees and management and key staff to IOSH Managing Safely.
Discovery Channel, (Media)
MESH has provided IOSH Managing Safely training to the majority of the Facilities and Real Estate Solutions team based at the European Discovery headquarters in Chiswick.
Asda Distribution Centre, (Food)
MESH has developed an ongoing relationship with ADC at the Dartford centre to train key staff to IOSH Managing Safely level. This relationship was first formed in 2008 and continued throughout 2009.
Carillion High Speed Rail, (Transport)
MESH was approached by Carillion high speed rail link in Kent in the middle of 2009 to deliver training to its managers at Singlewell, Gravesend. We were able to provide a flexible approach to delivery and highly competitive price that appealed to Carillion.
GE Healthcare, (Manufacturing)
GE Healthcare, Maidstone , recognised a shortfall in the understanding of managerial responsibilities with regard to Health and Safety. MESH consultants completed two IOSH Managing Safety courses for both Team Leaders and Managers with great results.
The first group undertook the training in December 2009 and the second group in February 2010.
Emerson Willis, (Construction)
MESH delivered IOSH Managing Safely training to all of the management team at Emerson Willis Ltd; including all construction site supervisors (10 in total). The in-house course was delivered on a flexible basis that was convenient to the company.
Charities Aid Foundation, (Service)
MESH delivered IOSH Managing Safely training to six members of the Health, Safety and Wellness committee at the Charities Aid Foundation (CAF). The course was delivered in-house at the end of July 09 and was tailored to fit the organisation.
Risk Assessment
Kent Association for the Blind, (Charity)
MESH developed and delivered risk assessment training to key staff working for the Kent Association for the Blind in early 2009.
Discovery Channel, (Media)
In 2009 MESH were asked to develop and deliver a risk assessment training session for one of the production teams at the Discovery Channel to cover risk assessment on location whilst filming.
Discovery Channel, (Media)
MESH were asked to deliver risk assessment training to a group of health and safety champions representing all the Discovery Channel offices across Europe. The training was delivered to a group of 8 in Paris at the end of February 2009.
Business Link Kent, (Government)
MESH delivered an introduction to risk assessment training session on behalf of both Business Link Kent and the Kent Invicta Chamber of Commerce.
Fourayes Farm, (Food)
MESH trained managers and team leaders at Fourayes Farm Ltd to understand what is required to ensure suitable and sufficient risk assessments are developed.
Health & Safety Awareness
St Regis Paper Company Ltd, (Manufacturing)
St Regis approached MESH to provide ideas on health and safety training that would engage the interest of its production workforce. The company already had a good record of providing training but identified a different approach was needed to engage a cultural shift in health and safety thinking.
We created an interactive two hour session that was delivered in the first half of 2010 to its five shift crews covering over 200 staff. These sessions were exceptionally well received.
C W Fire, (Service)
MESH developed a health and safety awareness training session for CW Fire (a SME company that specialises in the installation of fire suppression systems) to ensure all staff were trained in key health and safety issues relevant to the company.
First Touch Solutions, (Telecommunications)
MESH has supported First Touch with training to its managers and engineers to keep them up to date with health and safety legislation.
C Scope, (Manufacturing)
MESH trained a group of 20 managers and supervisors to understand the requirements of today’s health and safety legislation and how they could help to improve safety in their workplace.
Capespan, (Food)
MESH trained managers at Capespan, from the fresh fruit processing facilities in Sheerness, Kent.
Discovery Channel, (Media)
MESH were asked to deliver a bespoke training session to all managers working at the Discovery head office in London, this covered some 150 managers.
EMR, (Horticulture)
Senior management agreed that Health and Safety awareness sessions should be delivered to all employees.
Manual Handling
ASK, (Government)
MESH was asked to deliver Manual Handling Training to staff at the Advisory Services Kent team (part of Kent County Council) in 2009.
C Scope, (Manufacturing)
MESH has trained a group of employees at C Scope based in Ashford, Kent. The staff received practical advice on both manual handling legislation and how to apply safe handling techniques.
Bethany Lodge, (Healthcare)
MESH were asked to deliver a Manual Handling Train the Trainer programme to staff at Bethany Care Homes. This programme was tailored specifically to the organisations needs.
Ravensbourne College, (Education)
MESH provided manual handling training for Ravensbourne College of Design and Communication, focused on workshop staff and the environment that they work in.
Oil & Gas UK Ltd, (Offshore)
MESH were approached by Oil and Gas UK to undertake manual handling training for their staff based in both the London and Aberdeen offices. The training was tailored to the needs of the organisation.
Noise Awareness
O`Sullivans, (Printers)
The company was concerned that staff were not taking seriously the controls that management had introduced to control the levels of exposure. MESH were asked to educate staff on the importance of protecting their hearing by following the control systems introduced by the management and what the consequences could otherwise be.
P&O Ferries, (Shipping)
After completing a noise survey at P& O Ferries we were asked to to deliver noise awareness training to the employees potentially at risk. The training was well received and assisted P&O to change the mindset of staff towards workplace noise and the use of workplace noise controls.
Environmental Training
Finesse Leisure, (Recreational)
MESH were asked to review the Environmental compliance of Finesse Leisure in 2009. After an initial meeting to review the existing documentation it was agrred the next step was to train a Green Team.
